The Weeknd Performs At Super Bowl LV Halftime

The Weeknd brought his Highlights to Super Bowl LV with his electrifying performance during the Pepsi halftime performance.

For the first time in the game’s 55-year history, the half-time performance held from the stands, rather than the pitch, in compliance with strict coronavirus protocols.

Emerging from the stands at Raymond James Stadium with a choir in white robes, XO kicked off his 14-minute medley with “Call Out My Name” and segued into “Starboy” and “The Hills”.

Backstage, The Weeknd was joined by bandaged-faced dancers of the Kappa Alpha Psi for “I Can’t Feel My Face”, “I Feel It Coming”, “Save Your Tears”, and “Earned It”. For his explosive finale, he marched on the field with his dancers for “Blinding Lights” as fireworks lit up the sky.

After The Weeknd performance, viewers took to Twitter to praise the ‘formerly homeless man’ who went on to be a half-time performer at the Super Bowl.

The Weeknd will bring his live show to an arena near you when his “After Hours Tour” kicks off next year. The 104-date global trek commences Jan. 14, 2022 in Vancouver and wraps Nov. 16, 2022 in London.
