Ariana Grande Opens Up About Her Exes on New Song ‘thank u, next’
Ariana Grande releases a brand new song titled ‘Thank U, Next’.
After her breakup with longtime boyfriend Mac Miller and whirlwind engagement to “Saturday Night Live” star Pete Davidson just weeks later, and Miller’s death from an apparent drug overdose and her subsequent split with Davidson a couple of months after that.
“Thought I’d end up with Sean / But he wasn’t a match,” she sings on the Victoria Monét-penned track. “Wrote some songs about Ricky / Now I listen and laugh / Even almost got married / And for Pete I’m so thankful / Wish I could say thank you to Malcolm / ‘Cause he was an angel.”
But instead of being bitter, she’s grateful to her exes for what they taught her. “One taught me love / One taught me patience / And one taught me pain / Now I’m so amazing,” she sings.
