Despite his award loss, Burna proved he’s an AFRICAN GIANT at the BRIT Awards 2020!
Grammy nominated singer, Burna Boy was nominated in the 2020 BRIT Awards ‘International Male’ category, which he lost out to Tyler, the Creator.
The ‘African Giant‘ crooner was nominated for Best International Male artist at the 40th edition of the British Phonographic Industry’s annual pop music awards (BRIT) Awards 2020 alongside Americans, Bruce Springsteen, Dermot Kennedy, Tyler The Creator and Post Malone. Nominations were led by British rapper of Nigerian descent, Dave and singer, Lewis Capaldi.
The “Ye” singer performed Stormzy’s ‘Own It’ and also his hit track, ‘Anybody‘ but he lost the award to Tyler The Creator. The singer was also nominated for Best Song category for his feature with, Dave for “Location” but the award was won by Lewis Capaldi for the track titled Someone You Loved.
Before the awards show began, Burna made quite an entrance to the red carpet, showing up in an over-sized teal green jacket with a big chain and rings—typical Burna-style. The red carpet host for the evening, Munyachawawa, had a chat with Burna Boy, who graciously promoted a number of Nigerian cuisine including our jollof rice and palm wine.
