Claims the legendary singer’s music videos ‘not good enough for airplay’…
Veteran musician, Majekodunmi Fasheke, popularly known as Majek Fashek, has called out the management of Soundcity for disrespecting him and looking down on his legacy as one of the biggest names in Nigerian music.
The legendary reggae musician took to his Instagram page to condemn the management of the cable music TV station for refusing to play his music videos, “Akugbe” & “Hey Rastaman” on their channel as they said the videos do not pass for airplay on their channel because of poor quality production.
Majek Fashek who seemed pained by the actions of the management of the TV station revealed he couldn’t understand why Soundcity would term his music videos not good enough.
He said the two videos in question were shot differently in Atlanta, United States and Canary Walf in England and does not understand their definition of low quality whereas they play videos of musicians who promote internet fraud and other moral decadences through their videos and nullify the real quality videos that promote sanity.
He said, “Its a BIG shame that Soundcity and their boss Tajudeen Adepetu have chosen to ignore good music from a LEGEND like MAjek Fashek.
“The video AKUGBE by Majek Fashek short in Atlanta Georgia and HEY RASTAMAN was short in Canary Warlf in England
“All on YouTube to see if it’s not quality enough. How dare you say Majek Fashek’s music video is not ‘quality’ enough to be played on Soundcity? Yet you play all these “Yahoo Yahoo’ videos with naked girl and stuff?
“Where is the place for history and honouring our legends? Shame on YOU!!! Omenka Uzoma Day.”
Meanwhile, fans have supported the legendary singer to condemn Soundcity for showing utter disrespect.
Many are even of the opinion that Soundcity is an arrogant TV station as they have proven in time past with threats and eventual actions of that leads to the extermination of some Nigerian musicians videos on their channel.
